The windows are based on the symbols of the Eucharist along with the sub-themes of light, peace and flowing water.
The wheat, bread, grapes and wine represent the Eucharist. Along with these symbols are the chalice and two Eucharist lights
Light, Guidance- This is represented in the rays of sun that steam through the design. These rays cover both of the windows to remind us that His presence and love is all around. The composition of these rays, make the entrance very inviting and safe. They open out and envelope the visitor into the place of prayer.
The set of six candles within the design symbolise that Our Lord is the light of the world. “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Water- This represents the principle sign of life as it is indispensable for life. It cleanses, refreshes and renews and is the symbol of Baptism and a new birth/life. The water flows through both of the panels and represents the flow of life. Water is a substance that always finds a way to get around obstacles that may cross its path. This mirrors life and signifies that with guidance from the lord, we too can find a way around any problems in our life.
Fish- This is a symbol of Christ.
