Review and Report

The strategy is specific to the functionality of the window. Museum pieces can be approached with a purest conservation mind-set. However, we have to tackle architectural stained and leaded glass as functioning windows. The fully conserved window must withstand the weather conditions of its specific location. In Scotland, this is a challenge !!!
DEFINITION OF TERMS
- PRESERVATION - Act on the environmental conditions within which the historic window is preserved in.
- CONSERVATION - Safeguard the authenticity and intergity of an historic window by retaining the original materials.
- RESTORATION- More innterventive methods where some of the original materials are being replaced.
- REPLICATION- To replace any broken or missing segments of stained glass.
